2021 Here we come!

Uncategorized Jan 02, 2021

Hello everyone and welcome to 2021. Well, it looks like we made it through a crazy year and now we are moving forward.

What are some of your goals for 2021? Mine, well, I have a few. Personally, I walked a lot in 2020 following all of you on tracks, but I need to get in a little better shape for all the walking and trails we have planned in 2021. So, my goal for 2021 is to run, or jog, 700 miles this year. That is mileage beyond my working trails. Getting my dogs and myself back to the 30x3+10 I talk to you all about. The thirty we need to work on is the stamina. This year, I also, am planning more training for myself, Alice and Neo. Neo needs work on his environment. Growing up in Covid was a thing. He went from happy pup being around so many people to "What you talkin bout Willis?" (anybody else watch Different Strokes growing up?) Anybody else working on this? As we get towards the spring I will set up a few training sessions like we had before Covid. These are not classes, but times I am out working my pups and if you want to join you are more than welcome.

The new year always brings new perspective on things, not really new year resolutions just a time to get back to goals that you have set in the past. No shame in not completing something just shake it off and start fresh. Just don't quit!

So what are your plans for 2021? What goals are you setting, or getting back too? I am hoping one of your goals will bring you and your dog here to K9 Track NW- we will train you, support you, and cheer you on!

Here are some things happening in 2021 at K9 Track NW where we hope you will join us!

Our foundation courses will start almost every 2 months. February we will begin! If you are new here and interested please don't be shy, give me a call if you have any questions. Your dog will thank you.

And, you don't have to be wanting to be in SAR to join us. We are here for everyone. You may just take one course and have all you need to get out there and work your dog! Have fun. Give your dog purpose!

The Beyond Course starts this month. Here we are aging and distancing tracks- getting you ready to certify. I am so excited for this course. It will be a lot of work for us all and so rewarding as well. If you are still working through your foundation courses, this maybe the class for you in 2022. This one will start every January.

Seminars are all up for 2021- if you have completed our foundation courses or you have trained foundation elsewhere you are welcome to join us!

Seminars will have no more than 5 handlers in each. Small groups for lots of time with trainer and trails with just enough people to follow and watch and learn! I learn so much by watching others!

Interested in a seminar- make plans now! They can fill up quickly!!!! Especially the Night Trails Seminar- which we have two planned this year!

The Retreat is new this year, and it is a toss up between the Beyond Course and the Retreat for what excites me more. 6 Days of Trails!!!! And, so much more we will do!!!! This will be a celebration of all we have done in the last two years. Plan your vacation now! Vacation with your dog in Beautiful Bellingham in August- nothing gets better than this!!!!

One of my Goals in 2021 is to get back into this blog!!! I will do my best to be here at least twice a month- topics to come

See you on the trails- Jennifer

My Short Story

I have been working dogs since 2005. I have taught obedience, detection, and tracking classes.  I was a SAR handler for 14 years, a narcotics handler for 9, and I worked as a bomb dog handler for two years. Now as K9 Track NW owner and trainer, I hope to train with you. My wish is to show you just how amazing your dog can be.
